News Travels
Many of our readers have received our LPA newsletter before, but there are some who are new to the LPA family and are first time recipients of News Travels, and so a warm welcome to you all.
Waking up early to your alarm going off and wondering “Why am I up so early?”… and then it dawns on you … the holidays are over and that it’s time to go back to work. Does this scenario sound familiar?
Going back to work after waking up at 10:00 to the sound of the ocean, or late nights out with your friends or being able to take those amazing afternoon cat naps, is difficult even for the most enthusiastic employee. But, have no fear, you can do it!
Take it one day at a time: Coming back from being on vacation will be an adjustment. So start off slowly, taking care of your admin first and working your way down your to do list. Don’t forget to take some small breaks to get some fresh air.
Remember, you aren’t alone: Always remember there are many people around you who will be experiencing the same thing. Do it together!
Preparation is key: Making sure you have lists of what you need to do and by when is key! This will lessen the overwhelming feeling and help you work through your tasks systematically.
Set goals and realistic expectations: Setting goals for the year and for each month is a great way to start off the year. Write down all those achievements you are working towards, and set mini goals for each of them.
Don’t try eat the whole pie at once: Be realistic about how much you can do or handle at a time.
Ask for help: If you are drowning and need help, ask! You do not have to go through it alone. Asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness.
Be honest: If you are asked to take on a project you cannot handle yet, be honest. Explain your workload and work out an alternative option (an extended deadline perhaps?).
Make sure that you print out your confirmation letter. This action serves to confirm with the Resort that you will be occupying your LPA week this year! Plus, it’s the best way to start getting excited for your breakaway! (Don’t forget to take your printed confirmation letter along on holiday as you will need to present this at the resort.)
Don’t forget about our amazing LPA EXTRAordinary Escapes! As long as your accounts are all in good standing, you can enjoy as many EXTRAordinary Escapes as you want, at a price that is just as extraordinary!
Making sure all your fees are paid will ensure that you can occupy your week, that you qualify for the EXTRAordinary Escapes AND, if they have been in good standing since the 1st of December 2016 (and continue to be in good standing until the 31st of March) you will be entered into the lucky draw to win a 55” Flat Screen TV!
If you are visiting Crystal Springs Mountain Lodge, Sudwala Lodge, Monateng Safari Lodge or Ngwenya Lodge, you can pre-book some holiday essentials with our LPA Boosters! Stress less, enjoy more!

Skilled African Blessings Team members go out into the nearby communities to teach individuals how to farm according to the Foundations for Farming Principles.

The Foundations for Farming initiative is an on-going activity in the communities. The training sessions occur twice a year over two days where community members are encouraged to attend. Skills training includes how to farm sustainably and productively in order to yield nutritious crops.

The African Blessings Team contributes on-going support, training and encouragement in order to help create, maintain and sustain personal food gardens. With the skills and knowledge they have available we foresee great changes and upliftment in South Africa, one community at a time.

Going on holiday is SO exciting! This is YOUR time to relax and take a break from the daily routine at home. That’s why, when visiting your self-catering resort, you should be armed with some tips on what to cook that will be quick and delicious so that food prep doesn’t take up too much of your relaxing time. Here are a few easy recipes for the whole family:
Pasta dishes are simply fantastic! They do not take long to make and there are so many different sauce options that you can whip up with whatever you have in your kitchen. This pasta dish is easy, quick and fresh! Perfect for a vacation meal.
Wraps are always fun to make and eat, and these look so yummy! Best of all, you can use left over chicken (or beef) to make wraps if you do not feel like quickly frying some strips. They are quick, they are easy, and make for a fun family dinner!
If you are looking for something light but filling that you can make for the whole family, then a quiche is the way to go. Mix together a quick garden salad to serve with this quiche and you have a delicious but simple dinner!
