LPA Staycation Ideas

There is no such thing as too many vacation, but going on vacation doesn’t always mean going away for a week or traveling far and wide…

WHY NOT GO ON A STAYCATION?

A staycation is a vacation that you spend at home, and if you plan it correctly it can be just as good as a holiday anywhere else.

The most important thing with a staycation is making sure you set up your space. Make sure your home is setup for maximum relaxation. Don’t leave duties or chores for your staycation, play music that reminds you of your favourite holiday destinations to get your mind relaxing and in the right vacation mood.

Here is some staycation activity ideas:

Do the touristy things

Are you always avoiding those popular landmarks or attractions that they visitors typically visit? A staycation is the perfect excuse to visit your local tourist hotspots.

Have a picnic at your local park or botanical garden

don’t have a park nearby? Picnic in your garden.

Explore your home town’s famous landmarks

If you are lucky and live close by a national park or landmarks, take advantage and go explore your local town.

Visit a local museum or gallery

Yes, you might have seen it before, but we bet it has been a couple of years ago… You might even learn a couple of new things

Treat yourself to a spa day

Spoil yourself with day at the spa and dedicate yourself to a day of ultimate mind and body relaxation.

Go for a hike

Get some fresh air and explore the nearby parks or nature reserves. With some imagination you can be anywhere in the world…

IT’S YOUR STAYCATION! You don’t even have to leave your house if you feel like it.

Here is some staycation ideas when staying at home:

Create your own resort experience

Turn your patio or garden into a small resort oasis, setup a comfortable couch or lounge chairs, hang some fairy lights or lamps, put some holiday music on, mix you favourite holiday cocktail and relax all day long in your small oasis.

Holiday drinks

Part of a holiday is the refreshing cocktails or fruit punches. Make up a daily pitcher with fruit punch, pieces of fruit and ice or spree it up with a little bit of vodka.

Board game Night

Whether it’s just you and your partner, the whole family, or a group of friends – invite the gang, dress-up if you want and host a game tournament.

Go camping in your backyard

Setup your tent (or maybe just make a bed and sleep under the stars) in your backyard.

Select and read a vacation book

Get that book you wanted to read for ages ready and make it part of your mission to finish that book during your staycation. Tip: keep it light and easy-reading.

Catch-up on some sleep

Treat yourself and buy some luxury pillows, take a long hot bath with some essential oils, put on a sleep mask and take an extra-long quilt-less nap.
